John Hewett

Faculty Home Page

Dr. Hewett is Emeritus Professor of Statistics and Director of the Biostatistics Group at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He holds an Adjunct Professor appointment in both Internal Medicine and Physical Medicine. A faculty member at the University of Missouri-Columbia since 1965, he served as Chair of the Department of Statistics for six years. He is the author or co-author of over 140 publications. He is an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association. He was the founding editor of STATS, a magazine for students of statistics, published by the American Statistical Association. He is a past recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award of the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals and was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by that organization.
