DETAILS: Coalition members will distribute information about secondhand smoke and recruit supporters.

WHAT: Cold Turkey Tobacco Cessation Program

WHEN: Oct. 15, 22, 29 and Nov. 5, 2008

WHERE: Pershing Building Rm. 301, TSU campus

DETAILS: The program will include free patches, quit classes and physician consultation for any campus student, faculty or staff member willing to participate. Click here to see the poster.

DETAILS: Coalition members will host a booth with information on secondhand smoke and interactive games.

WHAT: Participation at the Society for Public Health Annual Meeting

WHEN: October 23-25, 2008

WHERE: San Diego, CA

DETAILS: Students will attend all of the tobacco prevention/cessation/ control sessions and workshops given by experts in the field.

WHAT: Presentation at the annual American School Health Association national conference

WHEN: Nov. 12-15, 2008

WHERE: Tampa, FL

DETAILS: Students will present two studies on the economic impact of a smoke-free ordinance in a small, rural city and on the Cold Turkey smoking cessation program. Students will also attend and serve as Student Monitors at all of the tobacco prevention/cessation/control sessions and workshops given by experts in the field.
